Hasselt also wins U16 championship and captures two of the three national youth cups Hasselt also wins U16 championship and captures two of the three national youth cups

Hasselt has already made history this year by becoming the national U14 champion, but last weekend they went a step further by also keeping the U16 cup in Hasselt. This unprecedented success is a significant reward for the hard work the Limburg club has put in over the past few years to achieve this goal.

The U16 team left nine other teams behind and completed the task with no less than eight U14 players in the team. This ensures a bright future for the youth in Hasselt for the coming years.

Even in the U16, we do not find any Hasselt players among the top scorers of the league. The two most notable players of the season were captain Rhune Jorissen, who scored the most points for Hasselt (52 points in total, 4th place overall), followed by Tibo Soeffers with 47 points. Nicolas van de Vondel allowed only 36 pucks past the goal line, helping his team to a successful season.

It is remarkable that the policy change two seasons ago and the efforts of the club management, led by Jana Kurucova, have produced such a remarkable result in such a short time.

Hasselt is now also a major supplier of talented players for the Belgian Talent Pool U14 and U16.

The federation would like to take this opportunity to warmly congratulate the players, parents, supporters, and the Hasselt club management on this achievement!
