Last season, the IIHF launched a brand-new training program for national hockey development. This robust course, totaling 250 hours, consists of online webinars, onsite meetings, and a significant amount of homework. The result is a comprehensive national project that participants can implement in their own countries, supported by the IIHF.
The new RBIHF federation board aims to train and prepare a younger generation of staff for the future. Therefore, Tina Moons and Ben Boute were selected to develop and implement a women’s recruitment program and an age-related ice hockey skills program, respectively.
The training begins this saturday with a six-day onsite kick-off in Vierumäki (Finland), where our Belgian delegation will start the course alongside approximately thirty other participants. Both participants hope to graduate in the summer of 2025.
In May of this year, Marc Verlinden graduated from the first edition, resulting in a two-year project ‘Regional Coach Development Manager,’ which also received support from the IIHF.
