Last time the Inline Hockey Senior Men participated to a World championship is from 2008 in Varese Italy. After we decided to concentrate us on development of the sport in the different categories. In 2023 we took a big challenge by organizing the European Championship in Charleroi Belgium. It gave us the opportunity to measure us where we are in terms of our development and how we can improve more. After the championship our Senior Men team was very eager to grow and prepare themselves for a next challenge, Inline World Championship 2024 in Italy. (Where it stopped once, it starts again.)
The team is built of new blood and experiences players. The mix helps us to learn fast from each other and show respect for each other, a “one” team spirit.
In September 2024 @ The World championship Italy, we took the challenge and met teams from different nations, going from India to Sweden, France, Slovakia,Czech republic and Colombia. We were seen as the underdog team, lost and won games, we even met ourselves against Sweden. The best result apart from the wins against India and Colombia is actually against the vice world champions where we just lost 6-0 On a Czech TV channel they said they didn't expect such resistance from Belgium We lost 18-1 against Slovakia in Charleroi and here we lost 3-2 in overtime, that's really where we can see our improvement. What a learning curve and appreciation from the teams we played against.
A new journey has started for the Inline Hockey in Belgium, our development has a strong base, we continue to build in terms of “continuous improvement” with a promising future for the sport in the leagues and National teams
