As we approach the 2024-2025 Talent Pool season for the U14 and U16 age groups, clubs have received their pre-selection lists. Invitations to the Talent Pool evaluation day are based on player recommendations from club coaches involved in the U14 and U16 age groups. Each club can submit up to 10 names per age group, including goalkeepers.
To participate in the evaluation day on Saturday, September 14, 2024, personal invitations will be distributed based on the submitted names. The evaluation days are free of charge and provide players, parents, and coaches with a clear view of our Belgian hockey level. It’s an ideal opportunity to compare skill levels, get to know other players from different clubs, and network.
In the end, 40 players and 4 goalkeepers will take part in this year’s selection. Since the program is part of the future national team selection process, the Talent Pool group is limited to players who can represent a national team (either already holding Belgian nationality or eligible to obtain it)
While Belgian clubs are primarily approached to provide player names, Belgian players who are currently playing abroad can also express their interest in participating. To do so, they can send an email to nick.baeten@rbihf.be. Upon contacting Nick, they will receive additional information about the program and instructions on how to apply.
