After two though games, the team took full advantage of a rest day to recharge both mentally and physically. This reset proved crucial as they prepared for a high-stakes matchup against South Africa, a game they needed to win to secure their place in the division.
When the puck dropped, the team hit the ice with fierce determination and a clear sense of purpose. Their efforts culminated in an extraordinary 11-1 victory over South Africa, a dominant performance that underscored their skill and tenacity.
Forward Camille Sommerschuh led the charge with an impressive hat trick, finding the back of the net three times. Her offensive play was matched by Linnore Saunders, who also recorded three goals. Alice Vercruysse and team captain Ans Van Hoof contributed two goals each. Fenna Sempels added her name to the scoresheet to further solidifying the team’s dominance in the game.
