The Belgian national women's ice hockey team is geared up for the World Championship Division IIb in Dunedin, New Zealand. After being relegated from Division IIA last year, the team initially had high expectations for this tournament. However, they face significant challenges due to injuries and personal circumstances affecting key players f.e. Lotte de Guchtenaere and goalie Nina Van Orshagen. Additionally, several experienced players are unable to participate due to personal reasons, leaving the team with a younger roster. Although the team is determined to put forth their best effort.
They departed on Friday the 11th in the evening and will arrive on Sunday, with the tournament kicking off on Monday, April 14th. Belgium's first match will be against Hong Kong at 1 PM local time (3 AM Belgian time). Following this, they will face New Zealand, Turkey, Ukraine, and Australia.
